Q: How to remove and inspect the driveplate and crankshaft in the Honda Pilot?
A: Remove the engine and transaxle, then detach the transaxle from the engine. Take out the bolts securing the driveplate to the crankshaft. Clean the driveplate, inspect for cracks and check the ring-gear teeth. Lay the driveplate on a flat surface and check for warpage. Clean the driveplate and crankshaft mating surfaces. Replace a leaking crankshaft oil seal before reinstalling the driveplate. Position the driveplate against the crankshaft, noting the offset bolt holes. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern in stages. Reverse the removal procedure to complete installation.
