Remove the engine and transaxle, then separate the transaxle from the engine. Remove the bolts that secure the driveplate to the crankshaft. Clean the driveplate and inspect the surface for cracks, checking for worn, cracked, or broken ring-gear teeth. Lay the driveplate on a flat surface and use a straightedge to check for warpage. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the driveplate and the crankshaft, replacing the crankshaft oil seal if it is leaking before reinstalling the driveplate. Position the driveplate against the crankshaft, ensuring correct installation with the offset bolt holes. Follow a crisscross pattern to tighten the bolts in several stages to the specified torque. The remainder of installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Remove the engine and transaxle, then detach the transaxle from the engine. Take out the bolts securing the driveplate to the crankshaft. Clean the driveplate, inspect for cracks and check the ring-gear teeth. Lay the driveplate on a flat surface and check for warpage. Clean the driveplate and crankshaft mating surfaces. Replace a leaking crankshaft oil seal before reinstalling the driveplate. Position the driveplate against the crankshaft, noting the offset bolt holes. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern in stages. Reverse the removal procedure to complete installation.
