How to remove and inspect the driveplate and crankshaft in the Honda Ridgeline? Posted by Customer

Remove the engine and transaxle, then detach the transaxle from the engine. Take out the bolts securing the flywheel to the crankshaft. Clean the flywheel, inspect for cracks and check the ring-gear teeth. Lay the flywheel on a flat surface and check for warpage. Clean the flywheel and crankshaft mating surfaces. Replace a leaking crankshaft oil seal before reinstalling the flywheel. Position the flywheel against the crankshaft, noting the offset bolt holes. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern in stages. Reverse the removal procedure to complete installation.
