Honda Fit Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: Where is the CKP sensor located, and what are the steps for its removal and installation on Honda Fit?
A: On 2007 and 2008 models, the CKP sensor is located on the right end of the engine, at the rear of the timing chain cover, while on 2009 and later models, it is positioned at the rear of the cylinder block near the transaxle, on the firewall side, beneath a heat shield. To begin, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For 2009 or later models, loosen the upper mounting bolt of the heat shield, then completely remove the lower mounting bolt and detach the heat shield. Next, disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor, remove the mounting bolt, and extract the sensor. During installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to use a new O-ring lubricated with clean engine oil and tighten the sensor mounting bolt to the specified torque.
