Raise the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor, and remove the sensor. Install a new O-ring. Start the engine and run it at 3000 rpm until the fan comes on. Drive and accelerate to 2500 rpm, then coast to 1000 rpm. Accelerate to 5000 rpm, then coast to 3000 rpm. Repeat this several times. Park, switch the ignition switch off and on and wait for 30 seconds. If the Check Engine light comes on or there are problems, perform the CKP Pattern Clear/CKP Pattern Learn procedure.

On 2007 and 2008 models, the CKP sensor is located on the right end of the engine, at the rear of the timing chain cover, while on 2009 and later models, it is positioned at the rear of the cylinder block near the transaxle, on the firewall side, beneath a heat shield. To begin, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For 2009 or later models, loosen the upper mounting bolt of the heat shield, then completely remove the lower mounting bolt and detach the heat shield. Next, disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor, remove the mounting bolt, and extract the sensor. During installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to use a new O-ring lubricated with clean engine oil and tighten the sensor mounting bolt to the specified torque.
