How to check and replace front wheel bearings on the Honda Passport?

When replacing brake pads or raising the car, inspect the front wheel bearings of 2WD models. A torque wrench and special tools are needed. Each wheel should be spun to detect noise, resistance, and free play. In case there is movement, inspection of the bearings for repacking or replacement should be done. Having removed the wheel and brake caliper, take off the dust cap, lock ring, and outer adjusting nut as well. It is necessary to clean all parts so that inspection may be carried out for any damaged bearing races that need to be replaced. Apply grease on each bearing race, pack bearings with high-temperature grease, and also put grease on the spindle. Install the adjuster nut as well as the inner bearing and seal in that order. After that tighten the adjuster nut before backing it off one full turn then hand-tighten it again. Finally, reinstall all other components starting from the end in a reverse order.
