  A: If the stereo that came with your vehicle has an anti-theft system then refer to the information up front and only then disconnect the battery cable. For models with an automatic transaxle, there are two retaining screws on each side of the shift lever knob which can be removed and the knob pulled off. If the model is equipped with a manual transaxle then the shifter knob must be unscrewed and then removed. Next, the console retaining screws have to be undone in order to free the console, which further have to be lifted out of the car. Removal is as discussed above and installation is the exact opposite of removal.
