Q: How to remove and reinstall the steering gear assembly for the Honda Crosstour?
A: Disconnect the battery and drain the power steering fluid. Loosen lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove wheels. Under the dashboard, remove and mark the steering universal joint. Detach tie-rod ends and remove the heat shield. Disconnect the return hose and feed line anchors, and remove the lines from the rack and pinion. Remove the middle mounts and shock tower cross brace. Disconnect the EPS motor angle sensor and motor electrical connectors. Remove the mounting bolts on the left side of the rack and pinion. Lower the subframe with jacks and remove the right side mounting bolts. Remove the rack and pinion assembly through the left wheel opening. For installation, reverse the steps, ensuring proper torque on bolts and replacing loosened subframe bolts. Refill the Power Steering Pump, bleed the system, check for leaks, and adjust alignment if necessary. Reconnect the battery.
