Q: How do you remove and install the shift cables in Manual transaxle on Honda Accord?
A: Remove the center console, then take out the cotter pins and detach the cable ends from the lock pins on the shift lever. Pry off the spring clips and detach the cables from the shift lever housing, rotating the cables until the squared edge aligns with the slot in the shift lever housing cutout. Pull back the carpet and dislodge the grommet from the floorpan. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Unscrew the nut and detach the cable bracket from the floorpan. Remove the cotter pins and washers, then disconnect the cables from the shift levers on the transaxle, including the select cable from the select lever and the shift cable from the shift lever, followed by prying off the retaining clips from the brackets. Pry off the spring clip(s) and detach the cable(s) from the bracket on the transaxle, then guide the cable(s) through the floorpan. Installation is the reverse of removal.
