Honda Accord Pressure Plate Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the Clutch Disc,Pressure Plate and Release Bearing for the Honda Accord?
A: To remove the transaxle in the process of replacing the clutch, make sure you support the engine. Leave the clutch fork and release bearing intact. In four-cylinder models, use a clutch alignment tool while a special factory tool should be used for V6 models. Loosen pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts until you can remove them and then take off the pressure plate and clutch disc. Examine the flywheel as well as the clutch disc for defects and put new ones if necessary. Before installing it, clean the flywheel together with the pressure plate. Lubricate the transaxle input shaft bearing retainer in addition to the release bearing before putting on the clutch release bearing as well as a transaxle.
