Q: How to remove and install a clutch release cylinder for the Honda Accord?
A: Remove the battery and battery tray. Disconnect the hydraulic line mounting bracket. Remove the roll pins securing the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder, then disconnect the line. Have a small can and rags handy - some fluid will be spilled as the line is removed. Plug the line to prevent excessive fluid loss. Remove the two clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts and remove the clutch slave cylinder. Lightly lubricate the clutch slave cylinder pushrod and the release fork pocket with high temperature grease. Install the clutch slave cylinder on the clutch housing. Make sure the pushrod is seated in the release fork pocket, then tighten the mounting bolts. Install a new O-ring on the hydraulic line, then connect the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder and install the roll pins. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following points: Fill the Clutch Master Cylinder with brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 specifications. Bleed the system.
