Honda Ridgeline Camshaft Position Sensor

Camshaft Position Sensor in Honda Ridgeline is an essential part that tracks the position and the speed of the camshaft and sends the data to the engine control module regarding the fuel injectors and ignition timing. Ordinarily situated over the camshaft, it's sometimes possible for it to be fitted in other positions according to the vehicle in question. Together with the crank sensor, the CAM Position Sensor plays the key role in adjusting the positions of the engine's parts for efficiency, managing fuel injection in terms of its timing, and measuring vehicle speed. The working of the Camshaft Position Sensor should be properly addressed to keep the efficiency and performance of Honda Ridgeline at optimal levels.

Honda Ridgeline Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Remove and Install the Camshaft Position Sensor in the Honda Ridgeline?
    A:
The CMP sensor on these Acura and Honda cars was moved by Honda in 2003 and 2005 models, placing it towards the right end of the front cylinder head. To start, push down on the release tab, and pull the CMP sensor's electrical connector off. Start by taking out three things: the timing belt cover, timing belt, and camshaft sprocket. Then disconnect the electrical plug from the CMP sensor. You should first step away the bolt for the CMP sensor, then take out the sensor behind the timing belt cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.
