    How to remove and install the CMP sensor in the Honda Ridgeline? Posted by Customer

    Disconnect the CMP sensor connector by pressing the release button and pulling the connector halves apart. Remove the timing belt cover, belt, and camshaft sprocket from the front cylinder head. Take off the rear timing belt cover and the CMP sensor. To install, reverse the process. For 2003+ Acura and 2005+ Honda models, disconnect the CMP sensor connector, and remove the timing belt cover, belt, and camshaft sprocket. Remove the rear cover and the CMP sensor from the timing belt cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Put the piston in the No. 1 cylinder at Top Dead Center, remove the upper timing belt covers, lock the timing belt adjuster in position by screwing one of the battery hold-down clamp bolts into the boss for the adjuster, loosen the idler pulley bolt about five or six turns, then remove the timing belt from the front camshaft sprocket, remove the front camshaft sprocket, disconnect the electrical connector from the CMP sensor, remove the timing belt rear cover, remove the CMP sensor mounting bolt and remove the CMP sensor from the timing belt rear cover.
