Q: How do you properly remove and replace the stabilizer bar and Bushing on Honda Odyssey?
A: First, remove the front wheel lug nuts, next, jack up the front of the bicycle and place it on two jackstands. The use of the parking brake should be accompanied by a blocking of the rear wheels so that the vehicle cannot move. Take off the front wheels, then the nuts of the sway bar bushing retainers and take the retainers off the bushings, using a pry bar if required. Then, first take out the nuts that fasten the upper and lower ends of the sway bar links to the strut/coil spring assembly and the sway bar kit; for this, while turning the nut, it is helpful to hold the stud in place with an Allen wrench, then take off the links. Check the shape of the retainer bushings: if they are cracked or torn-replace both of them; if the ballstuds on the links are loose or worn-replace the links too. Place the links on to the requested locations and then turn the nuts of the links until you obtain the required torque. After removing the old retainer bushings, take time and clean the areas on the sway bar where the new retainer bushings will be installed, before lubricating both the inside and outside of the bushings with vegetable oil to ease reassembly, this should be done in a way that the slit in each of the bushings lies in the forward direction. Bolt and fit the retainers firmly with the specified torque level of the bolts. Last but not the least, fit the wheels and the lug nuts, lift the car and then finally tighten the lug nuts to the requisite torque. Regard to the sway bar removal it entails lowering the subframe and the removal of the sway bar when the subframe is out of the vehicle ordinarily requires professional help if the damage arises from severe accidents.
