Q: How do you remove and install the EGR valve and Tube on Honda Fit?
A: The EGR valve is located on the left end of the cylinder head, by the alternator bolted on the block to the left of the engine. The first step is to locate this connector and then unplug it from the EGR valve, the next step is to remove the two bolts that fits in the EGR valve to pull out this valve. In case of installation, the process should be done in the reverse method that was used in its removal and see that the area that the EGR is mounted on is cleaned, a new gasket is fitted and tighten the EGR mounting bolts as described under the torque setting. Starting from models of 2009, first, you need to detach the cowl cover and the lower cowl. Finally, remove the fasteners on the pipe flanges at both ends of the EGR pipe and remove the pipe from the Catalytic Converter, as well as the cylinder head. Remove the pipe and check the flanges and coupling faces as well as the gaskets and bolts; replace any damaged gaskets and tighten the bolts to the recommended amount of turn. Last but not the least replace the lower cowl along with the cowl cover.
