Q: Where is the back-up light switch located and how do you replace it on Honda CRX?
A: I found the back-up light switch behind the fuel pump housing, at the fire wall side of the transaxle and above the clutch cable mount bracket, with two wires passing through a plastic casing. To replace it, first remove the other end of the electrical lead from the switch as described below To remove the switch, do the following; Further, employing an open-end wrench each of the switches has to be taken off the transaxle, but the removal will cause some amount of fluid to seep out and this must be replenished. Replace the old switch with new switch properly placing and torquing the new switch to 18 ft. lbs. connect wires back and perform a check on the switch if it functions normally, then turn the switch off, pull out the wires by 25Nm and then check if the Contacts are completely free of the wires.
