Q: How do you remove and replace the hood latch and release cablel on Honda Crosstour?
A: In case of a couple model, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to have to take off the front Bumper cover, in a case of a sedan, the radiator cover must be unbolted. Second, there is the hood latch cover which is removed by the removal of a fastener and drawing of a line around the latch for realignment purposes. Remove the two bolts holding the latch retaining bolts to the radiator support and then remove the latch. Pull the hood release cable out by unlocking the hidden mechanism and the pulling the end of the cable out of the latch. For installation, reverse the removal procedure with the only condition that the latch must be set in such a manner that when the hood is closed, the lining should fit well and the bumpers should be slightly compressed. To get to the cable it is necessary to unplug it from the latch assembly and remove it from the clips on the radiator support. Thread a piece of wire or string around the latch end of the cable, then in the passenger compartment, pull down the driver side kick panel if it is removable, and pull out the cable from the hood release lever. Take out the upper support of the radiator and unbolt the cable from the retaining clip and push the cable to the compartment of the passengers. Check that it has grommet at the end, than disconnect the former cardboard from the wire and use the new one in the place of the former one. Finally, reverse the wire through the body and apply the pressure on the grommet so that grommet fit properly in its place.
