How do you remove the fuel pump from the pump housing from the 2007 Honda Accord? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector and ground wire, remove the fuel pump retainer from the fuel pump housing, remove the rubber insulator from the fuel pump, remove the fuel strainer from the inlet end of the fuel pump, then remove the fuel pump from the pump housing.

Make sure to install a new gasket in the hole before installing the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit back into the fuel tank. When installing the unit on a non-SULEV model, ensure that the index mark on top of the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit points between the two marks on the edge of the hole. On SULEV models or V6 models, ensure that the three asymmetrically-located notches in the mounting flange align with their corresponding lugs on top of the pump assembly.

Relieve the system fuel pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, disconnect the quick-connect fittings at both ends of the hose, tee your fuel pressure gauge into the fuel system, reconnect the battery, make sure the air conditioning and other electrical systems are turned off, turn the ignition switch to ON, start the engine and let it warm up, check the fuel pressure, replace the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter if necessary, relieve the system fuel pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, disconnect the fuel pressure testing rig, reconnect the fuel supply line quick-connect fitting, reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal, start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
