Q: How do you replace Cruise Control Switch,Hazard Warning Switch and Headlight Switch on Honda Ridgeline?
A: Different switches are contained on the switch panel for drivers in Pilot and MDX models, including a switch that turns off Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), cruise control switch, interior lighting switch, and moonroof switch. In order to replace any one of these switches you will first need to take off the switch panel by either using trim panel removal tools or a screwdriver and carefully prying away at the switch trim panel. Then pull out the entire switch panel together with its electrical connectors from the individual switches. Take out the particular switch you want to replace. Installation is opposite of removal. The instrument trim panel for Ridgeline models stretches across like one whole unit covering instrument cluster, audio/navigation unit and heater/air conditioning control assembly. To replace cargo light/switch/rheostat/moon roof/VTM-4 LOCK system-remove instrument trim panel. At this point pull out instrument trim panel while disconnecting electric connectors of the switches before pushing it over so as to get rid of the specific wanted button from within it. Installation is opposite of removal in this case. On some cars such as Honda's Ridgeline model for instance, there exist only one long piece that serves as an instrument cover which encompasses an audio/navigation unit, heater/a/c control assembly, and instrument cluster in itself since all of them are placed inside one part known as an instrument cover or cluster hood when each is fitted into their respective spot on vehicle's dashboard. If your car has no separate bezel around audio/navigation or heating/ac systems but has only one bezel-cum-instrument cover then this paragraph may apply to your honda ridgeline too! Also within each of these two major parts (hvac controls and audio/navi units) there may be several smaller parts like buttons with backlights behind them such as those found nearby climate control knobs (which can be rotated clockwise/ anticlockwise). And finally yet importantly we have a number of buttons over here; some are small ones like those around the edge of instrument cluster as well as large one or two in size which are for major functions like radio tuning on/off volume control etc. Therefore, cabin ambiance depends largely upon combination different light sources such sunlight, dash lighting lamps, and so forth. Also, the dashboard is usually illuminated by a few more bulbs located at its back/top/side parts including: either side of steering column/headlights switch/switchgear panel/more places around it! The story is similar if you have an overhead console with reading lights or sunroof switches mounted on top but not below headliner. To remove any component held together by screws use a screwdriver or ratchet wrench. If necessary take off connector using your hands but there should be no need removing it completely from engine compartment! Before leaving disconnect negative battery cable.
