Honda Passport Oil Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you replace the oil cooler in the Honda Passport?
A: While replacing the oil cooler of a 3.2L V6, drain the cooling system by taking off the oil filter. Pull off hoses from the oil pressure sending unit and cooler's electrical connector. Make use of the socket to remove the threaded adapter that holds oil cooler housing. Remove the oil cooler from the adapter. Take it out if you are replacing oil cooler connector and cleanse the block as well as old gasket material from the adapter. Place new gasket and adapter and clear coolant sealing surface and add an O-ring on it. Apply thread-locking compound on the threaded tube and tighten it in place. Reinstall everything, replace the oil filter, refill the cooling system, check for leaks.
