Q: How do you replace Headlight bulbs on Honda Fit?
A: To replace halogen bulbs, it is not necessary to remove the Headlight housing. For 2008 and earlier models, start by removing the inner fender splash shield on the side where the bulb is being changed. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the rubber dust cap. The retaining spring has a small handle that needs to be pushed down and inward to release it from the notch. After moving the retaining spring aside, remove the bulb, taking care not to touch the bulb surface with your fingers, as oil can cause it to overheat and fail; if touched, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Installation follows the reverse order. For 2009 and later models, raise the hood and disconnect the electrical connector at the back of the headlight housing, then remove the rubber dust cover. Move the retaining spring aside and take out the bulb, ensuring the notch in the bulb base is aligned when reinstalling the retaining spring. Again, installation is the reverse of removal.
