  Q: How do you remove and install a valve cover on Honda Del Sol?

  A: To pop off the valve cover first unplug the negative wire from the battery then if you have the correct code to disable the radio anti-theft mode do so. Third, take the distributor cap and separate its wires from the connections, it is useful to label the wires for better installation. This is done by first placing a new rubber gasket in the slotted area of the valve cover and after that the valve cover, sealing grommets and nuts are fitted into place and tightened to the correct torque. This should be done when the RTV sealant is slightly hardened because if the climate is damp and cold then it will take longer for the RTV sealant to harden. Lastly, it is recommended to revert the above mentioned removal procedures in order to finish the installation.
