Q: How do you properly install and adjust a hood to ensure it fits evenly with the front fenders on Honda CRX?
A: Pop the hood and use wraps to cover the body of the car in a bid to prevent the paint jobs from getting damaged. Stake out the location for the hinges in the hood so that it can be fixed properly. With help, support both sides of the hood and turn clockwise the bolts which fasten the hinge to the hood. Position the hood, make sure that marks that were made during the removal lined up and then insert and tighten the retaining bolts to 7 lbs. All the above can be done at a pressure ranging between 0 and +10 Nm depending on the amount of adjustments required. The hood can be adjusted along the bolts that fasten it to hinges, lock mechanism and Bumpers so that it can be made to fit perfectly with the front Fenders. You may need to tilt the hood to one side or another and to do this, loosen up the hinge bolts and move the hood to the desired position. Raise the front of the hoods until the bumpers do not touch it when the bumpers are closed. Place the striker inside of the lock in front of the centre and for the time being tighten the bolts that serve to secure it. Lift the bumpers up and then adjust the hoods such that they are parallel to the fenders, thereafter, tighten the lock securing bolts.
