Q: How do you remove and reinstall the front and rear bumper covers on Honda CR-V?
A: Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands. Working under the vehicle, detach the push pins, bolts, or screws securing the lower edges of the bumper cover, noting that there are six lower fasteners and one on each outside edge near the junction between the bumper fascia and the fender. It is not necessary to remove the entire lower trim panel, but it may obstruct the reinstallation of the bumper. In the front wheel opening, remove the retaining screw securing the bumper cover to the fender well, and if equipped with wheel arch protector trim pieces, remove them as well. Detach the bumper from the fender by pulling outward to free it from the pressure fastener clips. Remove the front grille cover, then release the plastic tabs on either side near the lower section of the headlamp assembly while applying outward pressure to the bumper. While holding the bumper near the headlamp assembly and the outer edge, pull outward to detach the pressure fittings securing the bumper to the lower part of the headlamp assembly. Disconnect the fog lamps if applicable and remove the bumper, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands, then detach the plastic clips and screws securing the splash guards and the lower edge of the bumper cover. If equipped with wheel arch protector trim, remove these as well, secured with plastic fasteners. Remove the screws securing the bumper cover in the rear wheel openings, then separate the bumper from the quarter panel by pulling it outward until free. Open the trunk or rear lift gate to remove the screws and clips securing the upper edge of the bumper cover, then pull the bumper cover out and away from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal.
