Q: How do you remove and install a sun roof on Honda CR-V?
A: The control of the sun roof is through a motor and CPU assembly that controls the cables and it needs a factory equivalent scanner to diagnose it. It will be necessary to-take out headliner;-remove sun roof trim;-pull out front as well as rear drain tubes;-disconnect electric connection to the motor and CPU;-and, at last, loosen the fasteners to the sun roof assembly. With help on each side still, unscrew the fasteners and close the sun roof, and manoeuvre the roof gently back from the car. For installation all the fasteners are to be replaced back into the holes created during removal but it is important not to tighten them completely yet. Reconnect the electrical connectors and drain tubes and operate the sun roof while the headliner is still out. When the sun roof is closed ensure proper positioning of the seal in regard to the roof lines and then tighten the fasteners. The glass can be moved on the sun roof track independently while the elongated bolts fastening it can be used for adjustments. Last but not the least lay the sun roof trim and then tension the headliner.
