    How do you remove and reinstall the flywheel/driveplate from the crankshaft on Honda Accord? Posted by Customer

    Remove the transaxle and then take out the bolts that secure the flywheel/driveplate to the crankshaft. Clean the flywheel/driveplate and inspect the surface for cracks, checking for worn, cracked, or broken ring-gear teeth. Lay the flywheel/driveplate on a flat surface and use a straightedge to check for warpage. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the flywheel/driveplate and the crankshaft, replacing the crankshaft oil seal if it is leaking before reinstalling the flywheel/driveplate. Position the flywheel/driveplate against the crankshaft, ensuring correct installation with the offset bolt holes. Tighten the bolts in several stages following a criss-cross pattern to the specified torque. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse of the removal procedure.
