    What is the location and removal process for the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor on the Honda Civic? Posted by Customer

    2015 and later CR-V models lack an input shaft speed sensor. Find the sensor on the top of the transaxle on Civics, or on the backside of the transaxle on 2014 and earlier CR-V models. Remove the air filter housing and possibly the battery for more space. Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector, remove the mounting bolt and sensor, and discard the O-ring. To install, reverse these steps, using a new O-ring and a special spacer washer for an SLXA transaxle.
