Verify fuel in tank and fuel pump runs by turning ignition switch to ON. To measure fuel pressure, use a gauge capable of reading at least 63 psi, fuel hose, and double flare fitting. Before disconnecting any fittings, relieve system fuel pressure and disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. For 2001 models, disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator and note fuel pressure reading. For 2002 and later models, note fuel pressure reading. If pressure is within specified range, system is operating correctly. After test, relieve system fuel pressure, disconnect cable from negative battery terminal, remove testing rig, then reconnect fuel supply line and cable.

Remove the second-row seats, then remove the carpet from the area underneath.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal, start the engine and check for fuel leaks at the pump fuel line connections. If there are no leaks, install the access cover, the carpet and the second-row seat.
