As a note, 2003 and 2004 SULEV and LX-P 4-cylinder models and all 2005 and later four cylinder models are equipped with an MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor, which combines the functions of the MAF and Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensors into one unit. The sensor is located on the air filter housing. To disconnect the electrical connector, depress the release tab and disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the retaining screws. Remove the sensor retaining screws and remove the sensor. To reinstall, switch the removal steps going from the last step to the first step.

This sensor is used only on 2007 and later models, and on some models, it is combined with the IAT sensor. To replace it, first disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. Next, remove the screws and pull the sensor from the air filter housing. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the MAF/IAT sensor retaining screws and remove the sensor.

Check the grommet for any cracks or deterioration and replace it if necessary.

The installation process is simply the reverse of the removal process, but be sure to use a new 0-ring.
