    Q:
How do you remove and install the intake manifold on 1.8L engine on Honda CR-V? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the intake manifold, one require to release the fuel system pressure and then access the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequently, grossly examine the intake air duct and the air filter housing and then take them off. Remove and label all vacuum lines and electrical connectors that might hinder the process of manifolds removal. Remove the electrical connectors connecting the throttle body, clamp the coolant hoses connected to the throttle body and remove the fuel feed hose connected to the fuel rail. Lift the automobile and safely stand it on jack-stands, then take off the lower splash guards. You have to penetrate under the engine compartment and get rid of the intake manifold support bracket bolts and the intake manifold and, finally, the heater hoses located on the intake manifold bracket. Last but not the least, extract the intake manifold nuts and bolts and take out the manifold inclusive of the gaskets from the cylinder head. Regarding installation, the mated surfaces of the manifold has to be verified flat with a precision straightedge and feeler gauges, also for cracks and distortion, any fastener that is defective has to be replaced. Clean the parent metal of the remnants of the old gasket and then fit in the intake manifold gaskets and tighten the fasteners to the recommended torque limit and reconnect the battery. The rest of the installation is done in the order of removal in reverse.

    Q:
How do you remove the intake manifold on 2.4L engine on Honda Civic? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the intake manifold from a 2015 or later CR-V model, first relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine cover bolts, pull the cover off the ballstuds, and disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover and intake manifold. Next, remove the intake duct and air filter housing, then unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold without disconnecting the coolant hoses. For Civic and 2014 and earlier CR-V models, disconnect the vacuum hoses from the intake manifold, marking each hose for correct reassembly, and disconnect the IAC valve, TPS, knock sensor, and any other electrical connectors. Disconnect the purge solenoid vacuum hose and the EVAP purge solenoid, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands to remove the under-vehicle splash shield. Remove the intake manifold bracket from below the manifold, then take out the mounting bolts/nuts and pull the manifold back to disconnect the PCV hose. Lift the intake manifold from the engine compartment. For 2015 and later CR-V models, disconnect the fuel line to the fuel rail, the brake booster vacuum hose, and the PCV hose from the intake manifold, releasing the fuel line clips to remove the fuel line. Again, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands to remove the under-vehicle splash shield, then remove the intake manifold support bracket and its mounting bolts/nuts before lifting the manifold from the engine compartment. For installation, clean all traces of old gasket material, install a new gasket, and then install the manifold and mounting fasteners, tightening them to the specified torque starting with the center bolts. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal, and finally, reconnect the battery and run the engine to check for oil, coolant, and vacuum leaks.

    Q:
What are the steps involved in removing and installing the intake manifold and injector base on Four cylinder engine on Honda Accord? Posted by Customer
    A:
The intake manifold consists of two pieces, the outer portion, known as the intake manifold, and the inner portion, referred to as the injector base. To begin removal, relieve the fuel system pressure if the injector base will also be removed; otherwise, this step can be skipped. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. If the injector base is to be removed, drain the engine coolant. Next, remove the intake manifold cover and the intake duct between the throttle body and the air filter housing. Disconnect the accelerator cable and, if applicable, the cruise control cable from the throttle body, positioning them off to the side. Clamp off the coolant hoses attached to the throttle body and detach them, being prepared for some coolant spillage. Remove the splash shield from below the engine compartment, disconnect the wiring harness clamps, and position the harness aside. Remove the intake manifold brace and disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold, along with the EVAP hose from the throttle body. For models with an automatic transaxle, also remove the small vacuum hose from the rear side of the intake manifold. Disconnect the IAC valve, TPS, and any other electrical connectors that may obstruct manifold removal, then remove the bolt and detach the wiring harness from the front of the manifold. Remove the intake manifold mounting bolts and nuts, then separate the intake manifold from the injector base. Detach the PCV hose from the pipe on top of the injector base, remove the fuel rail and injectors, and detach the coolant hose from the pipe on the underside of the injector base. Finally, remove the injector base mounting bolts and nuts to detach it from the cylinder head. For installation, reverse the removal steps while ensuring to clean away all traces of old gasket material, install new gaskets, and tighten the fasteners to the specified torque, starting with the center bolts and working towards the ends. If the injector base was removed, refill the cooling system; if only the intake manifold was removed, check and adjust the coolant level as necessary. After reconnecting the accelerator and cruise control cables, adjust them if needed, reconnect the battery, and run the engine to check for leaks.
