Car engines require regular oil changes for its durability. In preparation for the task, gather the drain pan, breaker bar, socket, gloves, and filter wrench. Park on flat ground then start it and let it to warm up before turning off the engine. Remove the filler cap, raise the vehicle, remove the splash shield and position the drain pan under the oil drain plug. Remove the plug; allow oil to drain out then put back the plug.
