If the engine is hot but the lower radiator hose isn't, the thermostat might be stuck closed, preventing the coolant in the engine from reaching the radiator. In this case, replace the thermostat. For replacement: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Drain the cooling system, and if the coolant is relatively new or in good shape, keep it for reuse.
