Honda Ridgeline Air Filter

The Air Filter in Honda Ridgeline vehicles serves the purpose of holding dirt and other materials that may pose a threat to the engine, hence increasing the performance of the vehicle and decreasing the fuel consumption rate. These filters have to be replaced from time to time so as to avoid some form of restricted airflow. Honda Ridgeline Air Filters are generally made of paper and the filter traps particles of up to 5 microns while allowing air to pass through with protection to the engine. Aluminium and cotton are other media used in convection with GPure technology and the air filters come in round filters for carbureted engines and flat panel filters for fuel injected vehicles. The performance air filters are usually made from cotton gauze or any synthetic material that is able to provide more space for air to flow into the engine, along with providing longer time space before it requires replacement that leads to the improvement of horsepower, as well as fuel efficiency. Off road or where there is a lot of dust, the air filter must be inspected and cleaned more often than a standard car.

Honda Ridgeline Air Filter Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: Where is the air filter located and how to replace for the Honda Ridgeline?
A: The air filter is in a housing on the engine compartment's left side. To remove it, loosen the screw securing the coolant pipes to the cover and detach them. Remove the screws holding the air filter housing together, separate the halves, and take out the filter. Check the filter's outer surface. If dirty, replace it. If moderately dusty, clean it with compressed air. It can't be washed or oiled. If it can't be cleaned, replace it. Be careful not to drop anything into the housing while the cover is off. Clean the housing interior. Install the new filter, ensuring it fits correctly. Reassemble the housing in reverse order.
