Q: How to remove and replace a heater core in the Honda Passport?
A: Disconnect the battery's negative cable and drain the cooling system. Detach the heater hoses and evaporator lines in the engine compartment. Remove the heater/AC controls and instrument panel. Under the dash, remove the blower motor housing, evaporator core housing, and heater core housing in that order. Wrap duct tape around the heater core tubes to prevent leaks. Remove the heater core from its housing. Reinstall in reverse order, refill the cooling system, reconnect the battery, and check for leaks. Have the AC system recharged by a professional.
