Honda Passport Camshaft Seal Parts Questions & Answers
Q: How to replace a camshaft seal on Honda Passport?
A: This procedure can be performed for either cut camshaft seal. First, unclasp one of the negative battery terminals out of the battery. Subsequently, take out the timing belt and the camshaft timing belt sprocket out of the way. With the help of a back-up wrench, tighten the hexagonal part of the camshaft and unscrew the sprocket retaining bolt and then carry on to remove the timing belt sprocket which, if tight, should be pulled out using a small puller. Next, one can use seal removal tool to remove the old seal or if this tool is not available one may use any sharp instrument such as using a punch to make two holes of 1800 apart in the middle of the seal.screw self tapping screw on the holes made and using pliers, remove the seal. Subsequently, fit the fresh seal employing a large deep socket, some pipe, short PCV tubing. Last but not the least, refit the camshaft timing belt sprocket and the timing belt as well as join the negative terminal of battery.
