Q: How do you remove and install the washer fluid reservoir and Washer Pump on Honda CRX?
A: On 1984-87 models, the washer fluid reservoir is accessible through the engine compartment; however, the washer fluid tank in cases of 1988-91 models demands a front bumper cover to be unbolted. The front and rear washer motors are included in the reservoir of all models. Start by removing the first of the negative cables on the battery. For 1988-91 models the front bumper cover must be removed. Subsequently, pull the electrical leads out from the washer pump motors along with the connector and then remove one of the hoses connected to the reservoir to drain the washer fluid and it should be collected in a suitable receptacle in order to be reutilized. Pull the other hose loose from the tank, and then undo the tank retaining bolts, which vary according to the car's production year: 1984-87 models need two, while 1988-91 models require three. For the 1984-1987 models, the tank is to be slide off from above through the engine hood while for the 1988-1991 models one has to remove it from beneath the car. If required, the washer pumps can now be removed. If the pumps were removed, then these need to be placed back at the tank installation and then the tank needs to be fixed in its place at the car and then the mounting bolts need to be tightened to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm). Attach the electrical lead and hoses; refit the front bumper assembly, (early model), (late model); rejoin the negative terminal on the battery. Last of all, add water into the reservoir and then check the functionality of the system.
