- Q: How do you remove and install the intake manifold on Honda CRX?A: To replace or remove the intake manifold on carbureted engines, one has to open the drain plug and get a clean pan placed under the Radiator and then drain the cooling system, finally, unplug the negative terminal on the battery. Thirdly, next step is the air cleaner and case and fourth one is to disconnect the carburetor from intake manifold. Remove the emission control hoses on the manifold T-joint, remove the hose above the T-joint leading to the air cleaner check valve and undo the electrical connectors from the thermoswitches. Make sure to unbolt the solenoid valve that is situated near the thermoswitch, and then unbolt the nuts that connect the intake manifold to the cylinder head diagonally and then do away with the manifold.
