Q: How do you disconnect the center console on Honda CR-V?
A: Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For automatic transmission models, pry off the gear selector trim bezel and center console trim using a trim tool to carefully remove the top shifter trim cover, while for manual transmission models, unscrew the shift lever knob. Disconnect any electrical connections if applicable and remove the gear selector trim panel. Open the center console armrest, remove the mat and retaining screws, and take out the center console fasteners located under the armrest. Remove the cup holder assembly to access the bolts beneath it, and then take out the fasteners at the front edges of the console, saving them for reinstallation. Disconnect any electrical connections and remove the console from the vehicle by sliding it back slightly to lift it off the locking slots. For CR-V models, remove the forward side trim covers by pulling them away from the center console, then pull off the rear trim cover. Pry off the lower center dash trim panel located just above the center console and remove the bolts securing the rear portion of the console to the body, which are located under the previously removed rear trim. Remove the mat from the center console and the retaining bolts, then detach the pressure snap connectors on either side of the console that secure it to the dash. Slide the front seats all the way forward, lift the rear portion of the console, and pull it rearward to remove it from the vehicle. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal.
