On the 2001-2002 Acura and 2003-2004 Honda models, the Idle Control Valve is located beneath the throttle body. The newer models do not have an Idle Control Valve on an electronic throttle body. Unscrew the screws that hold the throttle body and Idle Control Valve in place to remove the Idle Control Valve from it. Replace the old Idle Control Valve gasket with a new one during installation. Screw in the Idle Control Valve screws tightly enough. The remaining part of installation follows removal's reverse order.

Remove the cable from the negative battery terminal, later, take away the throttle body from the intake manifold. Third, unscrew the Idle Control Valve mounting screws to remove the Idle Control Valve from the throttle body then remove the Idle Control Valve. Remove the old Idle Control Valve gasket and always make sure that the new one is used when putting the valve back. When installing the Idle Control Valve, fasten the mounting screws tightly. In its removal, the procedures are generally the inverse of the installation. Last but not least, the cable has to be connected again to the negative terminal of the battery.
