    How do I remove and install the EGR valve for the Honda Civic? Posted by Customer

    First of all, try to take off the engine cover and locate the EGR valve on the left end of the cylinder's head. Disassemble the link between an electrical connector and one EGR valve. You can then unfasten the nuts that mount your EGR valve and pull it out of its coolant housing. Lastly, eliminate any old EGR valve gasket that might still be there. The reverse of removal is installation. Use a fresh EGR valve gasket and make sure to tighten all the EGR valve mounting nuts securely.

    NOx are reduced by the EGR system. On four-cylinder models, the EGR valve is located at the left end of the cylinder head. To replace, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the mounting nuts, then discard the old gasket. Installation is the reverse of removal, and the mounting nuts should be tightened to the torque listed in the specs.
