    First of all, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system takes the gases produced during combustion and sends them back to the intake manifold. The valve cover to the intake manifold hose contains a fresh air inlet hose and a PCV valve. If you pull the valve from the cover and no vacuum is present, check for a clogged hose or valve. Replace any damaged hoses. In case it does not rattle when shaken, replace the valve.
