    To test the switch, disconnect the negative battery cable, unplug the electrical connector, and use an ohmmeter on the two lower terminals. There should be infinite resistance when the pedal is released and continuity when applied. Alternatively, a test light can be used to check for constant voltage on one side and voltage when the pedal is depressed on the other.
