Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, place it securely on jackstands, and remove the rear wheels. Next, remove the damper upper cover from the rear seat lining, followed by the shock absorber upper mounting nuts. Then, take out the shock absorber lower mounting bolt, which attaches the lower end of the shock absorber to the lower arm; to disconnect the lower arm from the trailing arm, remove the left bolt. Pull down on the lower arm to remove the shock absorber/coil spring assembly. For inspection or replacement of the shock absorber or coil spring, proceed accordingly. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values.

Attach the brake hose to its bracket and tighten the bolt securely.

Remove the damper cap, unscrew the self-locking nut while holding the damper shaft with an Allen wrench, and lay out the parts in the order they are removed. Carefully lift the compressed spring from the assembly and set it aside safely.
