To begin, disconnect the negative battery cable. For radio removal, on 1995 and earlier models, take off the front console trim bezel, while on 1996 and later models, remove the instrument cluster bezel. Next, unscrew the retaining screws and pull the radio outward to access the backside, disconnecting the electrical connectors and antenna lead before lifting the radio out of the vehicle; note that on 1995 and earlier models, the radio mounting screws are located on each side of the front console brace. Installation follows the reverse order of removal. For speaker removal, on 1995 and earlier models, the speakers are mounted in the instrument panel, requiring the removal of the lower dashboard panels for access. In contrast, on 1996 and later models, carefully pry off the speaker grille from the door trim panel. After that, remove the speaker retaining screws, disconnect the electrical connector, and take the speaker out of the vehicle, ensuring to pull out the speaker and unplug the electrical connector. Installation is again the reverse of removal.
