    How do you remove and install a knock sensor on Honda Odyssey? Posted by Customer

    Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the intake manifold cover and the upper intake manifold. Next, take out the fuel rail assembly and disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor by depressing the release button with the tip of a long slotted screwdriver and pulling the connector straight up with a pair of long needle-nose pliers. Remove the knock sensor using a deep socket, a universal joint, and an extension. Discard the old sensor 0-ring, ensuring that whether reusing the old knock sensor or installing a new one, a new 0-ring is used. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, making sure to use a new 0-ring and securely tighten the knock sensor. Finally, reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.

    On the top of the engine block, beneath the intake manifold is where the knock sensor is located. Firstly, get rid of both upper and lower intake manifolds so that you can remove it. Then, take out the fuel rail assembly. Finally, unplug the electric connector from the knock sensor and remove it. In reverse order to remove it. Be careful to replace it with a fresh 0-ring and screw in tight the knock sensor.
