To do this, follow the following procedures; This must be done from under the dash, remove the steering joint cover. Identify position of the intermediate shaft universal joint to the Rack And Pinion input shaft and then you remove the pinch bolt. Lift the front of the vehicle and use jackstand to support the vehicle, set the parking brake and turn on the steering wheel lock with the key and do not allow the steering wheel to turn so as not to damage the SRS coil. Subsequently, take out the shift rods or the shift control cable in the transaxle inadmissible and then the catalytic converter. Under the Rack And Pinion, install a drain pan and remove the power steering fluid pressure lines by removing the fittings, disconnected the lines and stop them at their ends or plug them to avoid leaks and contaminants get into the new component. Divide and disconnect the tie-rod ends from the steering knuckle arms and take off the left tie-rod end. Under support the Rack And Pinion and take out the mounting bolts on both sides after which the unit is lowered while disconnecting the intermediate shaft from the Rack And Pinion input shaft. Shift the car's Rack And Pinion rightwards, turn it such that the input shaft is looking in front, and by doing this you pull the left end down beneath the frame to release it from the car. For installation, raise the Rack And Pinion into position and connect the intermediate shaft in such a way that reasonable alignment of the marks. Locate the Rack And Pinion mounting bolts and washers and tighten them, after that insert the left tie-rod end and fasten the tie-rod ends to the steering knuckle arms. Attach the power steering hoses/lines to the Rack And Pinion or joint, fit the transaxle control rods or cable and the catalytic converter. Lower the vehicle, then install the IS pinch bolt, and torque it. Last, put back the steering joint cover and clamps and make sure that the holes in the flange fit the locators on the floor put the recommended fluid into the power steering pump reservoir and bleed the steering system.
