All models come standard with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), or air bag, for the driver and front seat passenger; in a head-on or frontal crash, the air bags will help reduce the risk of serious injuries. Depending on the model of the car, it uses a single crash sensor on the 2001 models or a dual sensor on the later models, with airbag assemblies on the steering wheel and under the passenger side of the dashboard. Further, 2002 and later models have modulated side-impact airbags in the front seat back.
