First, unbolt the door panel and, after that, detach the inner layer of the black material called 'vapor barrier'. After that, unlock and remove the lock cylinder rod retainer clip and remove the rod itself. Then pull the bottom part of the U-shaped retainer clip and then take out the lock cylinder. Continue with the removal of the outer door handle retainer bolts and then pulling out the handle. For preventing the door from getting damaged, wrap a clean soft shop towel around the handle and then using a pair of the diagonal cutting pliers you softly pry out the end of the release rod clip out of the handle and install the door handle-to-release rod clip. Last in installation, this should be done in reverse as the removal process with a new release rod clip.

Use a pair of diagonal cutting pliers to gently pry the release rod clip out of the handle.

Unplug the electrical connectors, wire harness clips, and inner handle rod.
