    Q:
What precautions should be taken when working inside door openings, and How to address the door latch, handle, and door lock cylinder on Honda Crosstour? Posted by Customer
    A:
Wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect against cuts from sharp metal edges. To address the door latch, first raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Then, through the large access hole, remove the glass run channel. Disconnect the lock knob by removing the bolt that secures it, followed by removing the screws that secure the latch to the door. Disengage the outside door handle-to-latch rod and the outside door lock-to-latch rod, which are attached by plastic clips that can be unsnapped and pulled out. Disconnect the electrical connectors at the latch and remove the latch assembly from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the outside handle and door lock cylinder, again raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Through the access holes, disengage the plastic clips securing the outside handle-to-latch rod and the outside door lock-to-latch rod, then loosen the lock cylinder protector screw. Remove the bolts securing the lock cylinder, protector, and lock cylinder switch as an assembly, followed by removing the outside handle retaining bolt and spacer to take the handle from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal.
