    Q:
How to remove and install a door latch,Door Handle and Lock Cylinder on Honda Fit? Posted by Customer
    A:
In case of working near or near the doors, one has to put on gloves to shield himself from sharp metallic edges. Well, to get to the door latch go up on the window, take out the door trim panel and the water-shield at that. If so needed, the glass run channel may need to be repositioned and the fastener that holds the center lower glass run channel must first be unscrewed before the channel is withdrawn. In calibration for 2008 and before models, undo the clips and free the lock bar and lock rod from the door knob housing, unplug the actuator connections, and uninstall screws for the lock before pulling it out. For 2009 and later models power door lock, remove the door lock actuator electrical connector and remove the harness clip, remove the rod fastener and disconnect the outer handle rod off the handle the final lock cylinder cable and remove the door latch mounting fasteners. Pull the window up all the way and the trim panel to get to the door handle and lock cylinder you need to take out the cylinder switch mounting fastener and unclipped the wiring harness, you then have to disconnect the cylinder switch electrical connector then pull the switch and harness from inside the door. Detach the wiring bracket mounting fastener and the bracket now as you look down and observe that the lock cylinder is held in by a U shaped wire clip which can only be accessed through this skinny slit at the base. If you can't pry down the clip, busting the thin metal bar at the bottom may give enough force to pop the cylinder. Pull it down and valve the cylinder to the door, disengage the lock cylinder lever rod is then reached. If that is not possible, unscrew the operating rod from the handle, then prop up the handle by fixing it to the door with tape; unscrew the interior metal plate of the handle; undo the fixture on the inside door plate and the handle can then be removed from outside. It is the exact opposite of removal, in which a given treadmill is placed in its intended position, to be used or sold.
